Day 8: Tokyo Bay, Onsen

Day 8

My left leg was hurting from day 7 (it is still when i am writhing this on 10 march, so i hope it will get away otherwise i will see a docter just to be shure. I rather pay the fee, wich should be oke since i am inshured good, then that i hurt it really bad and i have to go home) but dont worry (mommy daddy ;) i think it might just be becouse im to active or my bag is to heavy, nothing serious.

but however, i dident want to walk on it to much, so i decided to go to an onsen.
I took advantage of wikipedia to explain;

''An onsen (温泉?) is a term for hot springs in the Japanese language, though the term is often used to describe the bathing facilities and inns around the hot springs. As a volcanically active country, Japan has thousands of onsen scattered along its length and breadth.''

i went to Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari in Tokyo bay. This is the most kitchy and touristic onsen in Tokyo. And my Japanese friend already told me it was a mistake haha.
But the reason i went there is that onsen have quite some rules. And this big touristic onsen is said to explain all those rules in english. SO if i made a mistake it wouldent be so bad. If i would make a mistake at a little traditional onsen people would probably get really mad if not trow me out haha.
So i came here to learn the rules.

but first some photo's

(you couldent take photo's inside, this one is from the website)

and here you can vieuw the bath;

you can click on the pictures to get bigger.

you wont believe it i was lost agai.... i mean i was a genious! I FOUND IT RIGHT AWAY no trouble no trouble!!!! @.@ *lies*

vieuw from the monorail was oke;

tokyo tower, far far away

When you came there you have to take of your shoes, this is the first thing i did wrong. i took them off to early cus i was afraid to step on something with my shoes. and now my socks where 'dirty' (they where fine really but the japanese are scared of feet) so i had to change my socks. i took clean ones for when i was done.

Then came the fun part, i got to choose a yukata! Traditional japanese wear, its like a simpel kimono. i piced a blue one with a geisha, with a yellow obi. i dident want to be obvious choosing pink hehe ;.;

and then change into your yukata. (I know its more like what a bathrobe is in holland) Then you get naked (i still think choosing the yukata is more fun :P)

And then comes the importaint thing, you have to clean yourself really really good. i think if you would get into the bath right away they would trow you out. i got this part luckily. im awsome. they had really nice shampoo yay

i felt strange right away, i was, ofcourse, the only westen woman. and i was alone, and most japanese do this togheter.

but i was saved right away. a nice chinese women seeked contact with me. she was alone to. She was so so nice, and i spend most of the day with her chatting about our cultures while enjoying the onsen.

it was really nice and relaxing, i dont think i made any mistakes from that point on :)

the onsen exterior by night

there went a free shuttle bus from the onsen to the metro (i could not find this bus on my way to the onsen) I had an AMAZING vieuw, i could not take pictures becouse it was night and the bus was driving crazy fast.
i saw some tokyo by night; Tokyo tower, rainbow bridge, rainbow farrisweel, fuiji tv building and more i dont know the name off. i loved it. this is all i can show you guys. kinda sad;

I wanted to travel to a restaurant, but i was to hungry, no lunch again so i ate at a bar at the station. it was japans version of holland's brown cafe's. Its was verry smokey. i had a damn expensive pizza, the drink was even more expensive (only 100 yen cheeper then the pizza) But the Pizza might have been the best pizza in my life!
i might even go back there, just for the pizza.... after that i went to starbucks for a frapechino and a muffin (they had no desserts at the cafe, wich is quite normal for japan. but i felt like sweets) The Frapechino was amazing!

This little quy here wasent worth the money. (he had to pay it of ass a model)

all so not vegan today... im gonna make a big donation to De Dierenbescherming (the dutch peta) when i come back (there will be money left to donate right?)

i slep verry well!
