Day 16: Shitamachi History Museum & K-k-k-karaoke

Day 16

when i put my shoes on today i discovered a hole in the sole. i love these shoes. i dont want to trow them away!!

I had breakfast at Ueno station at andersons, wich is a great discovery!
I find that almost all bread in japan is sweet. This shop sells some japanese favorites but most bread is european. and its so so good, everytime i go there i end up ordering 3 times haha. They also got reallygood caffe late

yum :3

i saw this polarbear made of straws

I went to Ueno park after that, not for the park, thats for shure. But for one of the musea. Shitamachi History Museum is a small museum about the Tokyo of a 100 years ago. I got a tour from a volunteer guide, he was an old man that spoke better english then most of the japanese of my age. i enjoyed the tour and the best thing was i could pick a fortune. its a japanese tradition where your fortune gets decided. you have to pick a stik blindly from a box, that stick will have a number, and that number leads to a box, in that box is a paper with your fortune. i was afraid to pick something bad, but i got the best fortune they had!!! out of maybe 50 boxes! I am so lucky :D i am treasuring the fortune, this trip has to stay awsome with fortune like this ;)

i also got some origami souvenirs the man made himself :) so sweet.

this are traditional japanese houses

this is hiroshima 100 years ago

an old japanese village

Japanese ganzenbord, i love this!

after the museum i walked to a tempel in Ueno park, i met this homeless man who has a cat.

the first temple was quite touristic. i loved how this time i could read the wishes on the signs. they where left in english, german, dutch, french etc etc. some are verry sad and touching. i made these pictures a little bigger so you can read whats on the signs

some temple pictures

eh scarry statue

the second temple was also a bit strange, maybe its becouse i dont like Ueno park but the atmosphere is bad. i really liked this though.

its a memorial that was on the temple grounds. it is a flame taken from the ruins of a house that was ruined by the atomic bomb that hit hiroshima. verry emotional.

at night i met up with Izumi, Victor, Eric and Neil. We had dinner in Ikibukuro. it was verry tasty :) i should have taken pictures of dinner, but i only took funny ones. i never looked better!

and then we went for karaoke!!!!!

6 in the morning noodles

i was home at 8 in the morning <3 slep 2 hours lol
