Day 5: Shinjuku

Day 5

Shinjuku is quite famous, and said to be a great place to shop. Its also famous for its red light district.

this time going with the metro went really well :D whoowhoo. its was a long ride though. i first went to asakusa to go to the postofice becouse i was out of money already. wich is to bad...
and then i took the metro to shinjuku. its was quite a long ride so i took a day ticket for the metro. 720 yen or something like that.

I first went to one of the biggest sky scrapers in Japan. i wanted to go up but i dident dare to. i dont know if you can see in the picture but it is crazy high!!!!
i was really scared. i dident know my frear of hifhts was that bad. i dident get any further than the reception :P



omg scary!!!

i diceded to take a walking route lonely planet recomanded. it was hard to read the map, and i am becomming to think i am retarded. i couldent find my way so i just did whatever. i first went to the shopping district, i just walked around and dident enter any shops. its was crazy bussy and there where a lot of hip teenagers. then i was so hungry i became sick. i dont know what it is with me forgetting to eat. i think this trip takes more energy of me than it did at home so i need more food. i went to the the first restaurant i was haha. it was a chinese restaurant and they dident speek english. so i ordered from the pictures. i looked up in my guide how i had to ask 'is there meat in this dish' the girl said no. but when i got the food there was meat in it. it where enourmous portions (like crazy!) it was a spicey vegetable suop with pork, but i scooped the pork out. and the other thing i have no clue, i tasted it and it was so gross omg it was discusting XD (the soup was actually really nice) here is a picture, do you guys know what this is?



i ate one and i hid one in my bag!! im shure it had like pork fat in it. it tasted like greecy prawns bleh.

after that i went to a shire. it wasent as special as sensjo-ji. but it was nice to see that after i saw the bussy city.




again beautyfull reds.

I went to the red licht district, it was day so there werent any people. but i did that one purpose, i dont want to search for trouble. there where like 100 little bars in little streets. and it was verry dirty. its nothing complained to amsterdam ;)

Then i dicided it was time to go shopping :D yay. Most of you know i like soft colors, pink, pastel, brown, earth like colors, cute prints etc. well that is japanese fashion. I could have bought everything! i was amazed!! the shops are verry nicely decorated, and the shop assitands are verry nice and helpfull. some pictures for my girlfriends ;)







i did not bought any clothes becouse i just couldent decide really, it was hard to pick. i did buy some cute things again. i bought and alpaca pillow to match my alpaca speakers!

i waited for it to become dark becouse Shinjuku is the best in the dark they say.
it was nice :)



at night i went back to senjo-ji (again!) to see the night vieuw



I talked to a nice Japanese man there for a while. he took my pictures and gave me some tips :)

then i went to do some groceries and to sleep the night away (yes i know i should be partying the night away :P but for now i am broke already at 9 o clock)
