Day 33: festival in nikko, waterfals & lake vieuw cafe

Day 33

In the morning i met Tom to see the last temmple i havent seen and to join in on a temmple i havent seen and to join in on a festival ceremony in a budhist temple.

it was raining!

Thats why tom wanted to bring me with his car. but tom wanted to bring me with his car. but again i had t me with his car. but again i had to explain with his car. but again i had to explain why i did not want that. And again he did not understand. He just wanted to be nice and for him not taking his offer is verry rude. sorry tom :(

he walked me all the way trough the rain, and showed me nikkos most famous temple. with the sleeping cat and the 3 famous temple. with the sleeping cat, screeming dragon and the 3 monkeys.

Then we attended the festival. Today the samurais and shogouns switch position with the monks. So today the monks are mighty lords.

the monk in the last picture is the monk i met

Inside it was verry dark, you where alowed to use flash but i found that inapropriate. so some arent that good but i am happy to show you the ceremony (look at the amazing gold budah in the background!)

at the end of the ceremony they trow goods from the balkony of the temple.things like candy, towels, rice, toys etc etc. The fun thing is that most people catching are adults haha. I got a pack of candys, some paper towels (good catch since i have a cold) and a towel.

Then i got to the bus station becouse i wanted to see some waterfalls near nikko.
Tom wanted to take me there and then go to a sushi place there. but he is to old to use the bus and walk so far so he couldent join (he wanted to go by car but i cannot)
to bad :( i gave him a little present for showing me around. then i got up to the mountens

found these in a souvenir shop there.
when i was walking around asakusa with neil i found these singing cats veryy funny. ever since then i see them everywhere! i always turn them on and laugh toghether with the little children.

but what was i here for again...
the waterfalls!

I am impressed by Nikkos beautyfull nature <3
I went to sea the nearby 'lake' to me it could have been the ocean so big. You could ride this swan boats but i think thats so dangerous with this kind of weather. lol at the king swan, that would have been my boat!

great vieuw lunch!

  1. Hi lesley,

Blijf genieten!
    liefs anne en joost
